Berryhill Named Conference Defensive Player of the Week

TULSA, Okla. – The University of Tulsa libero Brooke Berryhill was named The American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Hurricane to a 3-0 record at the Creeds and Crests Classic over the weekend. This marks the third time that Berryhill has been named conference defensive player of the week as she earned the honors twice in 2014.
 
Berryhill (Haslet, Texas) compilied 70 digs over the three-game span, giving her an average of 5.83 digs per set. In Tulsa's 3-1 win over Stephen F. Austin on Friday evening, the senior racked up 33 digs for a Hurricane squad that had 102 in the match. Berryhill was named to the Creeds and Crests Classic All-Tournament team while helping TU to the tournament crown.
 
On the season, Berryhill has a team-leading 122 digs while averaging 5.08 per set while helping the Hurricane to a 5-1 overall record.
 
Berryhill and the Golden Hurricane will continue non-conference tournament play at the A-State Invitation on Sept. 9-10 in Jonesboro, Ark. Tulsa will start the tournament off with a match against UT Martin on Friday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. before taking on host Arkansas State at 6 p.m. that evening.
