Tulsa Volleyball Commit Named Gatorade Player of the Year

TULSA, Okla. – The University of Tulsa Volleyball commit Alli Evans was named Gatorade Player of the Year in the state of Oklahoma as announced on Tuesday. The Gatorade Player of the Year award is in its 32nd year and recognizes one player from each state in a variety of sports.39290
 
Evans (Edmond, Okla.) led Edmond Memorial High School to a Oklahoma Class 6A state championship in 2016, racking up 350 kills, 433 digs and added 60 blocks and 42 service aces in her final prep season. The outside hitter finished her career with 1,220 digs and 1,091 kills while also the Bulldogs to runner-up finish at the state tournament in 2014.
 
The Gatorade Player of the Year Award not only recognizes on court performances by high school athletes, but off the court and in the classroom as well. Evans, a senior class secretary, had spent time volunteering with local groups while maintaining a 4.0 GPA in the classroom.
