Tulsa's Shug Dickson was named as the American Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Freshman of the Week, as announced today by the league office.
Dickson averaged 21.5 points last week, while shooting 57-percent from the field, 58-percent from three-point range and 100-percent (4-of-4) from the free throw line. She tallied a team-leading 21 points against top-ranked UConn, while adding four rebounds and four assists. Dickson followed up that performance with a career-high 22 points, five assists, three rebounds, two steals and a block to help TU earn the program's first-ever win against UCF in Orlando.
This was Dickson's first Freshman of the Week accolade and fourth for TU this season. Alexis Gaulden picked up the honor twice (Dec. 19 and Jan. 9) and Kendrian Elliott has received the accolade once (Nov. 14).
