Tennis Sweeps Weekly Conference Awards

TULSA, Okla. – The University of Tulsa swept the American Athletic Conference Tennis Player of the Week Awards on Tuesday as Ksenia Laskutova and Majed Kilani were recognized for their performances over the weekend.
 
Laskutova won her respective flight at the Hurricane Classic over the weekend as she posted a perfect 3-0 record in singles play, earning straight set wins in her three matches. The junior is currently 6-0 in 2017 while helping Tulsa to a 4-0 team record to start the year.
 
Kilani earned a big win of his own in Tulsa's 4-3 upset over No. 4-ranked Texas on Friday as he rallied to defeat No. 36 Yuya Ito 1-6, 7-5, 6-2 to earn a singles point for TU. The sophomore also contributed in doubles play, helping to earn a point against the Longhorns and against Illinois State a day prior.
 
Both the women's and men's tennis teams will be on the court this weekend as they take part in the ITA Kick-Off on Jan. 27-28. The women's team will be on the road in Durham, N.C. for the event while the men are in Stillwater, Okla. to take on No. 15 Kentucky.
