DURHAM, N.C. – The University of Tulsa Women's Tennis team moved to 5-1 on the season with a 4-1 win over William and Mary on Sunday morning at ITA Kick-Off Weekend. Tulsa jumped out to an early lead by taking the doubles point before going ahead 3-0 in the eventual win.

Rongrong Leenabanchong and Martha Matoula earned their second 6-1 doubles victory in as many days as they bested Rosie Cheng and Olivia Thaler. The win moved the Tulsa duo to team-best 10 doubles wins in 2016-17.

Ksenia Laskutova and Martina Okalova picked up the doubles point for TU with a 6-4 win over Marie Faure and Lauren Goodman. The freshman Okalova put the Hurricane up 2-0 over the Tribe in singles play with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Thaler, her 10^th career win.

Marcelina Cichon won her 10^th straight match to move to 11-1, downing Maria Groener in straight sets 6-3, 6-2. Cichon has only needed to go the distance in one win this season.

Leenabanchong clinched for Tulsa after the Tribe cut the lead to two at 3-1 with a straight sets win over Faure 7-6 (3), 6-3 to give the senior her third straight victory.

The Hurricane will look to move to 6-1 on the season as they travel to Denton, Texas on Feb. 3 to take on North Texas in Tulsa's first true road dual of the season.
