Baseline to Baseline: Darien Jackson

Freshman guard Darien Jackson is ready to make his debut for The University of Tulsa men's basketball team this season. The 6-foot-2 guard came to Tulsa from Blue Valley Northwest High School in Overland Park, Kan. ­­Jackson was a three-year letterwinner for the Huskies and head coach Ed Fritz and capped his prep career by averaging 18.1 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game en route to a 22-3 record and a Class 6A state championship.
 
He averaged 20.7 ppg during the 2017 state tournament and poured in 26 points in the championship game. For his efforts throughout the season, Jackson earned Class 6A first-team All-State honors from the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association (KBCA), Topeka Capital-Journal and Wichita Eagle. He also was a McDonald's All-American nominee, an All-Metro pick by the Kansas City Star, first-team all-conference and was an All-USA Kansas Boys Basketball Team selection by USA Today.
