
Volleyball Back on the Road for Two Conference Matchups

TULSA, Okla. – The Golden Hurricane will travel for the second straight weekend for two American Athletic Conference matchups, as it takes on the Owls of Temple and the UConn Huskies.
Tulsa will play Temple on Friday, Oct. 20, at 7 p.m. in McGonigle Hall. The Owls lead the overall series, 5-1. Temple has won three of the last four matchups. Temple defeated USF on Friday, 3-0 (25-23, 25-22, 25-16), and knocked off UCF, 3-2 (16-25, 20-25, 25-16, 25-22, 15-13). Izzy Rapacz leads the Owls with 169 kills. Kyra Coundourides leads Temple with 492 assists.
The Hurricane battles the Huskies on Sunday, Oct. 22, at 1 p.m. in the Harry A. Gampel Pavilion. Tulsa leads the overall series, 5-1. The two teams split the series last season, 1-1, as each team won on the road. The Huskies were defeated by UCF on Friday, 3-0 (25-16, 25-18, 25-17), but knocked off USF, 3-0 (25-17, 25-20, 25-21). Kayla Williams paces the UConn attack with 274 kills, which is fourth in the conference. Williams leads the conference with 30 service aces and is 36th in the country. Emma Turner has 695 assists, which is fourth in The American.
