MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Tulsa men's tennis team was in action on day three at the ITA Regionals on Saturday. Majed Kilani defeated the No. 13 seed Oscar Mesquida of Arkansas, 6-4 and 6-2. Kilani will play in the quarterfinals.

Coming off of a three set victory over the No. 1 seed on Friday, Majed Kilani looked to keep his momentum going in the round of 16. Kilani faced the No. 13 seed from Arkansas, Oscar Mesquida. The first set between Kilani and Mesquida was a tightly contested set, but Kilani prevailed, 6-4. Kilani pulled away in the second set as he won, 6-2.

In doubles action, the Tulsa tandem of Kilani and Jarod Hing battled the No.3 seed pair Felix Corwin and Matic Spec of Minnesota. Corwin and Spec would take the match, 8-7 (2).

The Golden Hurricane returns to action on Sunday, Oct. 22, as Kilani will play in the quarterfinals. Kilani will take on the No. 10 seed from Oklahoma, Alexander Bakshi. First serve is scheduled for 10 a.m.
