• RS-freshman QB Luke Skipper has the 5th and 6th most passing yard games for a freshman in school history… he had 259 at UConn and 256 at Tulane.
• Of his 47 completions in 5 games, Skipper has had 15 completions for over 20 yards, including 6 completions for 50 yards or more.
SENIOR PK REDFORD JONES IS TULSA'S ALL-TIME SCORING LEADER . . .
• Senior placekicker Redford Jones came into the season with 239 points, needing 60 points to tie for the school's all-time scoring record.
• He broke the record in the 9th game at SMU when he scored 10 points on 2 FGs and 4-of-4 PATs … his field goals in that game went for 49 and a career-best 51 yards.
• Jones now has 301 career points surpassing the previous record of 299 points, held by another kicker Kevin Fitzpatrick (2008-11).
• He now has scored 62 points this year on 8-of-11 field goals and 38-of-39 PATs.
• His 46 career field goals made ranks 5th on Tulsa's all-time chart, as he trails the all-time leader, Jason Staurovsky (53 FGs, 1981, '83-85), by 7 field goals.
• Jones had his previous career-best of 50 yards earlier this season against New Mexico, bettering his previous-best of 46 yards.
• His 50-yarder was the first 50-yard field goal for a Tulsa kicker since Nov. 25, 2011.
BREWER BECOMES 4th TULSA PLAYER TO SURPASS 3,000 CAREER RUSHING YARDS . . .
• D'Angelo Brewer became just the 4th running back in school history to rush for over 3,000 career yards on just his 4th carry against Navy.
• Brewer now has 3,380 career yards and 22 touchdowns on 664 carries.
• He ranks 4th on the school's career rushing chart, and is 135 yards away from 3rd place (Trey Watts, 2010-13, 3,515 yards) … he is 156 yards shy of 2nd place Micheal Gunter (1980-83, 3,536 yards) and 271 yards away from record-holder Tarrion Adams (2005-08, 3,651 yards)
• Brewer missed the UConn game with an injury, but returned a week later against SMU and had 156 yards and one TD on 33 carries.
• Brewer has 5 100-yard rushing games this year, including 262 vs. Louisiana, 152 at Toledo, 131 yards vs. New Mexico, 140 vs. Houston and 156 at SMU.
• He jumped from 9th place to 4th place on the school's all-time rushing chart with his 262-yard rushing performance against Louisiana in the second game of the season.
• He came into that Louisiana game with 2,433 career rushing yards and ended with 2,695 career yards.
• Brewer has 14 career 100-yard rushing games for the third-most by any Tulsa running back.
• He trails Micheal Gunter (1980-83) and Tarrion Adams (2005-08) who are tied for the lead at 16 games, while Trey Watts (2010-13) is second with 15 100-yard rushing games.
MCKINLEY HAS 6 STRAIGHT DOUBLE-DIGIT GAMES . . .
• Junior McKinley Whitfield made the move from safety to linebacker during spring drills, but due to injuries at the safety position he moved back to the position prior to Tulsa's 4th game of the year.
• He played the first 3 games at the STAR linebacker position, and the last 6 at safety.
• No matter where he lines up, Whitfield is effective … he has a team-leading 87 tackles, along with 6 TFLs for -18 yards, a team-high 6 pass break-ups and one interception.
• He has a total of 7 double-figure tackle games this year, including 10 stops at the STAR position vs. Oklahoma State.
• Since making the move to safety, Whitfield has had 6 straight double-figure tackle games.
• Whitfield's other double-digit tackle games include 10 vs. New Mexico, and 14 each against Navy and Tulane, 10 vs. Houston and UConn and 11 at SMU.
• In the Houston game, Whitfield also had 3 PBUs and one interception for a 51-yard return that set-up Tulsa's first touchdown.
• Against UConn, he had his second game of the season with 3 TFLs going for -9 yards, while totaling 10 tackles in that game.
• At SMU, Whitfield also had 2 pass breakups to go along with his 11 tackles.
• With 87 stops, Whitfield ranks third in the AAC for tackles with a 9.7 average per game.
