
Horsfall and Thorson Earned First Team All-Conference, Horsfall is Libero of the Year

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The University of Tulsa volleyball student-athletes Taylor Horsfall and Emily Thorson earned American Athletic Conference honors, as the league announced its conference awards on Tuesday. Horsfall was named The American's Libero of the Year, while the sophomore was joined on the first-team all-conference squad by Thorson, a junior outside hitter.
It marked the fourth straight season, since Tulsa joined the American Athletic Conference, that the Hurricane has had two players earn all-conference honors, and the first end-of-season conference recognition for each of them.
Taylor Horsfall was named The American Athletic Conference Libero of the Year for being the conference's best libero. Her first team all-conference honor is the first of her career. She set a single-season record for both the conference and Tulsa with 755 digs, which ranked her second in all of Division I volleyball in total digs. Horsfall's 6.04 digs per set, set a program single-season record, led The American and ranked her sixth in the nation. She appeared and started all 32 matches. Horsfall added 126 assists, 29 points, 26 service aces, and three kills.
Emily Thorson earned a first team all-conference selection for the first time in her career. Thorson led The American with 525 kills, which is sixth in the country. Her 525 kills ranks sixth in program history for a single season. Her 4.20 kills per set are first in the conference and 26th in the nation. Thorson appeared in all 32 matches and made 31 starts. She accumulated 50 blocks, 44 assisted and six solo. She also totaled 561 points, 27 assists and eight service aces.
