Two Tulsa Soccer Players Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

Tulsa women's soccer players Eden Opie and Anna Williams were tabbed to the 2017 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District 7 second team.
 
Opie, a senior forward from Olathe, Kan., maintains a 3.96 GPA in biology.  She is a four-year letterwinner who has played in 37 games and earned three starting assignments.  Opie was named to the 2014-15, 2015-16 and 2016-17 American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team, and has been tabbed to the TU President's List eight times, Dean's List nine times and Athletic Directors Honor Roll nine times.
 
A sophomore forward from Kent, England, Williams has a 3.92 GPA in mechanical engineering.  She has started in 20 of 33 games, and has five goals and two assists for 12 points.  Williams was named to The American all-Rookie team in 2016 and the 2016-17 American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team.  She has also been selected to the TU President's List three times, Dean's List four times and Athletic Directors Honor Roll four times.
 
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or key reserve, maintain at least a 3.30 GPA and has completed at least one full academic year at the current institution.
