Tulsa Earned Four First-Place Finishes in Opening Meet

LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Tulsa men and women's track team opened its indoor season at the Bob Timmons Challenge on Saturday. The Golden Hurricane collected three individual victories and added one first-place finish in the women's distance medley.
Aaliyah Birmingham earned her first win of the year with a time of 7.412 seconds in the 60-meter dash, which was a fraction of a second faster than ORU's Aneikeme Etim's time of 7.420 seconds.
In the 3,000-meter run, Alyssa Bolliger started her senior campaign with a victory as she posted a time of 10:23.77.
The group of Ashley Barnes, Allison Bailey, Reagan Hausmann, and Quin Washington won the distance medley relay with a mark of 12:49.15.
Barnes picked up a second-place finish in the mile run with a time of 5:10.28. Hausmann finished behind Barnes in third, with her 5:17.58 time.
With a time of 1:26.40, Bailey finished third in the 600-yard run.
In the 4x400-meter relay, Kiara Jones, Candalyn Lyons, Ca'Purnika Galbert, and Birmingham ran a combined time of 3:54.54, for a fourth-place finish.
Galbert came in fifth in the 400-meters with a time of 58.29 seconds. Baylor Reese placed sixth in the weight throw with a toss of 14.29 meters (46-10.75).
On the men's side, Aleks Rapp secured a first-place finish with a hurl of 19.69 meters (64-07.25) in the weight throw.
Bailey Stewart finished second in the 800-meter run with a mark of 1:57.94.
Isaac Dobos also notched a second-place finish, with a time of 4:24.96 in the mile run.
Hans Kunsch, Zachary Adee, Henry Visser, and Stewart finished second in the 4x400-meter relay as they notched a time of 3:20.93.
Steven Salvano added a third-place finish in the 3,000-meter run with a mark of 8:55.61. Reed Sahadevan finished the 3,000-meter run in 9:10.08, for a fifth-place finish.
The Golden Hurricane returns to action on Friday, Jan. 12, in Fayetteville, Ark., for the Arkansas Invitational.
