Memphis (18-7, 8-4 American) pulled away in the second half for a 66-44 victory over Tulsa (12-11, 6-5 American) Tuesday night in front of 8,518 fans at the FedEx Forum.

Tulsa will look to regroup with a Saturday night home game against the Houston Cougars back at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.

Memphis' Dedric Lawson had game-highs of 14 points and 11 rebounds. No Tulsa player scored in double-figures. Junior Etou led the way with nine points and nine rebounds for Tulsa, while freshman Martins Igbanu and sophomore Sterling Taplin added eight points apiece.

Tulsa jumped out early in the game for a double-digit lead, making four of its first nine three-pointers and led 18-11 in the first half. However, Tulsa missed its next 12 treys and finished the game just 4-of-22 from behind the arc for 18.2-percent and converted just 32-percent of its field goals in the game.

The Hurricane offense was stagnant for the final 5:11 of the first half, scoring just one field goal in that time period, and that drought carried into the second half. Tulsa scored four early free throws, but Will Magnay's layup at the 12:36 of the second half was Tulsa's first field goal since the 1-minute mark of the first half, cutting its deficit to 12 points, 45-33. The Hurricane scored just 11 points the remainder of the game, and was stuck on 33 for nearly three minutes and stuck on 40 for just over four minutes.

Tulsa's 44 points was the fewest points since a 47-42 loss against UConn in the 2015 American Athletic Conference tournament semifinals.

Tulsa started the game with an 8-0 lead when Sterling Taplin knocked down a three-pointer at the 16:37 mark. Memphis put its first points on the board with 16:11 on the clock, before the Hurricane increased its lead to 12-2.

Memphis took its first lead at 19-18 on a Christian Keesee jumper with 8:38 left in the first half. Tulsa tied it at 19, then scored the next six points for a 25-19 lead when Igbanu hit his second straight layup at the 5:54 mark.

The Tigers then closed out the fist half on a 13-2 run to take a 32-27 lead into halftime. At intermission, Taplin, who played only nine minutes after picking up his second foul at the 11:05 mark, and Igbanu shared the fist-half scoring lead for Tulsa with six points apiece.

Tulsa returns to the Donald W. Reynolds Center Saturday for a 5:00 p.m. tipoff against the Houston Cougars. Tickets are available online at TulsaHurricane.com, at the Reynolds Center Ticket Office, Weekdays 8:30-5 pm, or by calling 918.631.GoTU (4688).
