Tulsa Fifth in USTFCCCA Program of the Year Standings
3/13/2017 3:31:00 PM | Cross Country, Track and Field
The University of Tulsa ranks fifth in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Program of the Year Award men's standings as released by the USTFCCCA upon the completion of the NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field season.
Tulsa stands tied for fifth with Colorado with 24 points in the men's standings after finishing 13th as a team at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships last weekend and 11th at the NCAA Cross Country Championships in November.
In order to be eligible for the award, teams must qualify for each of the NCAA Championships. The scoring system is based on each team's finish at the championships as points are given to each program (1st = 1 point, 2nd = 2 points, 11th = 11 points) with the lowest total score for all three championships deciding the winner.
The Golden Hurricane will begin their road to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships as they open the outdoor season at the Tulsa Duels this weekend at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium.
Men's Standings
1. Arkansas - 10
2. Oregon - 12
3. Syracuse - 13.5
4. Ole Miss - 22
5. Tulsa/Colorado - 24
