Tulsa Track Athletes Pick Up First-Place finishes at Arkansas Spring Invitational

The University of Tulsa had three first-place finishes at the Arkansas Spring Invitational on Saturday. The winning performances came in the men's 800m, men's 1,500m and the women's 3,000m steeplechase.
 
Tulsa junior Stacie Taylor clocked a winning time of 10:33.07 in the women's 3,000m steeplechase, besting the second-place performer by 30 seconds. On the men's side, the first-place performances came from sophomore Robert Tulley and junior Mark Middleton. Tulsa men went 1-2 in the 800m-seeded final race as Tully clocked a time of 1:52.10 for first place, and followed by junior teammate Grey Howard's time of 1:52.57. Middleton claimed first-place in the seeded 1,500m run with a time of 3:52.81.
 
Also for the men, freshman Hutch Helbig placed fourth in the men's high jump with a jump of 1.90m (6-2 ¾). In the 400m race, Tulsa runners Bailey Stewart and Austin Hostetler placed in fourth and fifth place, respectively. Stewart finished with a time of 48.27 and Hostetler clocked a time of 48.60. Tulsa had four runners finish among the top-13 in the 3,000m run, led by Jeremiah Ort's fifth-place time of 8:32.82.
 
Three Tulsa women turned in top performances for the Hurricane. Freshman Reagan Hausmann finished in second place in the 1,500m with a time of 4:45.22. Freshman Aaliyah Birmmingham placed fifth in the 200m dash behind four Arkansas runners with a time of 24.31. Another freshman, Allison Bailey, clocked a fifth-place time of 2:16.57 in the 800m dash.
 
Junior Nicole Lee placed second in the 3,000m run in a time of 9:51.56 leading five Tulsa runners that finished among the top-16 among 34 participants.
