Tulsa Women’s Tennis Team Wins at No. 30 Kansas 4-2

Lawrence, Kansas –– The 38th-ranked Tulsa women's tennis team closed out the regular season and improved to 18-6 with a 4-2 victory Thursday evening against the No. 30 Kansas Jayhawks (11-7) at the Jayhawk Tennis Center.
 
The Hurricane gained the doubles point with a forfeit at the No. 3 slot combined with a 7-5 win by Rongrong Leenabanchong and Martha Matoula at the No. 2 position, giving the visitors a 1-0 lead.

Tulsa took a 2-0 lead with a forfeit at the No 6 singles position and after a loss at the No. 1 slot, the Hurricane went ahead 3-1 when Leenabanchong claimed a 7-5, 6-3 win at the No. 2 position. The Jayhakws made it 3-2 with a win at the No. 3 position, but the Hurricane closed out the match when Martina Okalova defeated Kansas' Nina Khmelnitckaia at the No. 4 slot, 6-2, 6-4.
 
The Hurricane women will be in action next at the American Athletic Conference Championship, April 19-23.
