Tulsa Women Golfers in 6th Place After Two Rounds at the American Athletic Conference Championship

The Tulsa women's golf team sits in sixth place with one round still to play at the American Athletic Conference Championships. The Hurricane carded a second-round score of 299 Monday for a 36-hole total of 15-over par 591 at the Hammock Beach Resort's par-72 Conservatory Course.
The tournament will conclude on Tuesday with the final 18 holes.
The Hurricane fell two spots overall in the standings, dropping from fourth to sixth place with a round seven strokes over yesterday's opening 292. Houston overtook first-round leader UCF with a six-under par score of 282 on Monday. The Cougars have a one-stroke lead over the Knights (572 to 573), while SMU sits in third place with a score of 580.
Tulsa freshman Greta Bruner and junior Nicole Marquardt turned in the best rounds for the Hurricane on Monday with totals of two-over par 74. Bruner is in 10th place overall with a one-over par 145.
Sophomore Anneke Strobach and senior Nadia Majidizadeh are tied for 13th place with four-over par scores of 148. Majidizadeh turned in a round of 76 today, while Strobach shot a score of 78.
Marquardt was looking for at even-par score on Monday until suffering bogeys on the final two holes. Marquardt turned in an eagle putt on the par-4 sixth hole and finished the front nine at one-under par. She improved six shots over yesterday's opening round and sits in 36th place overall. Sophomore Olivia Jackson's round of 75 also counted today for the Hurricane total score and it put her in an overall tie with Marquardt with 154 totals.
Houston's Leonie Harm held on to her first-round lead with a two-under par 70 for an eight-under par 36-hole total of 136, giving her a four-shot advantage over UCF's Ashley Holder and Cincinnati's Ashley Cassidy (140).
