Palm Coast, Florida –– Tulsa freshman Greta Bruner placed eighth at the American Athletic Conference Championships on Tuesday, while the Golden Hurricane finished in fifth place as a team.

Tulsa shot a final round 297 for a 54-hole total of 888 at the Hammock Beach Resort's par-72 Conservatory Course. Tulsa's 297 third-round score marked the fifth straight round, dating back to the second round at the Dale McNamara Invitational a week earlier, that the Hurricane turned in a sub-300 round.

The Hurricane took a giant step in year three of Head Coach Emilee Klein-Gille, bettering a ninth-place conference finish from the previous three seasons to this year's fifth-place performance at The American Championships.

Bruner scored a final round even-par 72 for a one-over par overall score of 217 for her eighth place finish. She began the day at three-over par following the first five holes, then played three-under par on the final 10 holes.

Senior Nadia Majidizadeh turned in a score of one-over par 73 Tuesday and finished in 17th place overall with a 221 total. Her round was highlighted by a stretch of three straight birdie putts on holes 4, 5 and 6. Sophomore Anneke Strobach finished one stroke behind Majidizadeh in 18th place with a total score of 222 after today's round of 74.

Sophomore Olivia Jackson shot a final round 78 and finished with a score of 232 for 41st place, while junior Nicole Marquardt placed 42nd overall with a score of 233 after today's round of 79.

UCF won the team championship with a three-stroke victory over SMU, 860 to 863. UCF's Ashley Holder captured individual medalist honors as well with a one-stroke win over SMU's Brigitte Dunne, as Holder turned in a final round 69 for a seven-under par 209.
