Tulsa Rowing Makes Two Schedule Changes

4/19/2017 11:39:00 AM | Rowing

Due to forecasted water and wind conditions in the coming weeks the Tulsa rowing team had to make some schedule changes.  The Lawless Cup set for this weekend in Dallas was cancelled, while the Stone Cup, which was scheduled to be raced in Catoosa on April 29, has been moved to Oklahoma City.

"Of course we are disappointed, but you can't control mother nature," Head Coach Kevin Harris said.  "The long-term weather forecast for winds is not safe for racing this weekend at White Rock Lake, so to keep all of the competitors safe, we had to cancel."

"The water levels on the Verdigris is higher than normal and we can't run a fair race on the river with the current conditions so we had to move the Stone Cup to the Exchange Avenue Boathouse in Oklahoma City.  We are excited to still be racing our instate rivals in Oklahoma and we appreciate OU Head Coach Leanne Crain for agreeing to move the regatta to give us a chance to race."
