Tulsa Track Athletes Win the 5,000 Meter Run in Women’s and Men’s Races at John Jacobs Invitational

The Tulsa women's track team captured one first-place finish and had three second-place performances at the John Jacobs Invitational, while the men had a first- and second-place performance.
Tulsa track athletes won the 5,000 meters on both the men's and women's side. Tulsa's Reagan Hausmann led three Tulsa runners finishing among the top-7 in the 5,000 meters, as the freshman won the event in a time of 17:19.03. Fellow freshman Caitlin Klopfer clocked a time of 17:25.81 for 3rd place, while sophomore Avery Culpepper finished in 7th place with a time of 17:44.23.
Sophomore Steven Salvano had the men's only first-place performance as he claimed the title in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:13.79.
Freshman Aaliyah Birmmingham claimed two second-place finishes in the sprints for the Hurricane, finishing the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.68 and the 200m in a time of 23.91.
A pair of Tulsa runners finished 2-3 in the women's 3,000m steeplechase as freshman Ashley Barnes placed 2nd with a time of 10:48.57 and junior Alyssa Bolliger was next with a time of 10:52.94. Olivia Lopez clocked a 5th place time of 4:39.37 in the 1,5000 meter run.
Junior Grey Howard placed second in the men's 800 meters with a time of 1:52.29, while Bailey Stewart finished in 5th place in the 400m with a time of 47.64. Aleks Rapp took home Tulsa's only other two top-five finishes as he placed 4th in the hammer throw with a throw of 57.74m and 5th in the shot put with a throw of 14.92m.
The Tulsa men's 4x400 meter relay team, consisting of Austin Hostetler, Otugo Ananaba, Grey Howard and Bailey Stewart, finished in 5th place with a time of 3:16.12
