
Tulsa Men 5th, Women 9th After Two Days at the American Athletic Conference Track & Field Championships

Houston, Texas –– The Tulsa men's track team has scored 32 points through six events for fifth-place, while the Tulsa women have scored 12 points for ninth place after two days at the American Athletic Conference Track & Field Championships.
The Tulsa women scored nine points in the 3,000-meter steeplechase Saturday night as Stacie Taylor finished in third place with a time of 10:29.13 to garner six of those points. Ashley Barnes and Ayssa Bolliger placed 7th and 8th, respectively for the Hurricane, with times of 10:46.07 and 10:52.23.
Benjamin Preisner picked up six points for the Tulsa men on Saturday with a third-place performance in the 3,000m steeplechase when he clocked a time of 9:22.63.
The Hurricane men scored 26 points on Friday with one first-place performance and two second-place finishes. Tulsa took home first and second in the men's 10,000 meters with Henry Pearce finishing first in 31:21.90 and Adam Roderique taking second with a time of 31:34.52. Freshman Aleks Rapp placed second in the men's hammer throw with a personal-best of 59.09m.
Tulsa's one-two finish in the 10,000m marked the third straight year that Hurricane runners finished in first- and second-place at The American Championships in the 10,000m event.
Nicole Lee finished in sixth-place in the 10,000m with a time of 36:10.27, as she picked up three points for the Hurricane women on Friday.
On Saturday, Tulsa saw athletes advance to Sunday's finals in the 100m for women, 400m for men, 1,500m for both men and women.
Marc Scott had the top qualifying mark in Saturday's 1,500m preliminary with a time of 3:53.32, while Mark Middleton (3:54.01) and Adam Breaux (3:54.04) also moved into Sunday's 1,500m finals. Three Tulsa women advanced to the finals in the 1,500m with Olivia Lopez (4:34.99), Adrena Mazzei (4:38.10) and Reagan Hausmann (4:40.26) moving on to Sunday's 1,500m finals. Lopez had the fifth-best preliminary time.
Bailey Stewart and Austin Hostetler advanced on Saturday to Sunday's men's 400-meter finals as Stewart clocked the third best time of 46.92, and Hostetler finished with the sixth-best preliminary time of 47.61.
On Friday, the Hurricane had three male athletes advance to Sunday's final in the 800-meter run as Grey Howard and Robert Tully advanced to the men's finals with the fifth- and sixth-best times in preliminary races today. Howard finished with a time of 1:52.11 and Tully clocked a time of 1:52.21, advancing to Sunday's 800m finals. For the women, Cydney Fogle advanced to the finals of the 800m after finishing Friday's prelims in 8th place with a time of 1:01.72.
