TULSA, Okla. – The University of Tulsa Women's Tennis team was selected to their 11th consecutive NCAA Tennis Championship on Tuesday evening and will open tournament play against No. 21-ranked LSU on May 13 in Berkeley, Calif. No. 13-seed and host California along with San Jose St. will join the Hurricane in the NCAA Regional to be held at the Hellman Tennis Complex.

"It's good for our program to continue the legacy of making this tournament every year," said Tulsa Head Coach Dean Orford. "I think that's a really healthy streak of 11 so far. The draw is a very fair draw, I don't know anything about LSU but I'll do my homework moving forward and we'll go from there."

The Hurricane (20-7 Overall) finished second at the American Athletic Conference Tennis Championship on their way to securing the at-large bit. Tulsa defeated ranked opponents this season in No. 13-ranked Baylor and No. 30-ranked Kansas while winning six straight dual matches from March 3-15.

"It'll be good to get back out there," said Orford. "We've had a long break between the conference finals and the tournament. Right now we want to get everyone healthy, rested and fresh. Everyone is excited to get out to California and get going again."

Tulsa advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament last season for the fifth time in program history with a 4-1 win over Arkansas before falling to eventual runner-up Oklahoma State.

The winner of each NCAA Regional will advance to the NCAA Championships Round of 16 to be held at the University of Georgia's Dan Magill Tennis Complex on May 19-23.
