NORMAN, Okla. –– The Tulsa softball team will face the Oklahoma Sooners on Sunday, at 4:00 p.m. (CT), in the NCAA Norman Regional Championship. A win for Tulsa (41-15, 15-3 The American) will advance the Hurricane to the Super Regional Round next weekend, while a Sooner victory will force a second game in the double-elimination tournament, to be played on Monday at 12:00 p.m.
No. 10-seed Oklahoma (52-9, 17-1 Big 12) defeated North Dakota State (29-33, 11-7 Summit) earlier Sunday afternoon, 10-2, to advance to the regional championship round.
Tulsa reached the regional championship with wins over Arkansas, 5-4 on a walk-off home run in the bottom the 7th inning on Friday, and 2-1 over North Dakota State on Saturday when the Hurricane scored two runs in the top of the 7th inning to take a one-run lead.
The winner of the Norman Regional will face the winner of the Auburn Regional next week in the best-of-3 Super Regional.
The Tulsa-Oklahoma game will be aired on ESPN3.
