NORMAN, Okla. –– The Tulsa Golden Hurricane and Oklahoma Sooner softball teams will face-off in a winner-take-all game today in the Norman Regional Championship. The game has a first pitch of 12 noon (CT) at Marita Hynes Field on the University of Oklahoma campus. The Tulsa-Oklahoma winner will advance to the best-of-3 Auburn Super Regional this coming weekend.
The winner-take-all game came about when Oklahoma rallied from a two-run deficit in the 10th inning for a 6-4 win on Sunday. Tulsa took a 4-2 lead in the top of the 10th before the Sooners rallied in the bottom of the inning.
The game is the third meeting this season between the No. 10-seed Oklahoma (53-9, 17-1 Big 12) and Tulsa (41-16, 15-3 The American), as the previous two meetings each went 10 innings. The Sooners also won the regular season meeting with a 1-0 10-inning victory.
