Tulsa Track and Field Continues Competition at NCAA West Preliminaries

AUSTIN, Texas. – The University of Tulsa Track and Field team continued competition at the NCAA West Preliminaries at Myers Stadium on Friday evening.
 
Benjamin Preisner and Stacie Taylor each competed in the men's and women's 3,000-meter Steeplechase, respectively. Preisner finished ninth in his heat with a time of 9:17.43, placing 27th overall in the event.
 
Taylor clocked a time of 10:40.87 as she finished in 20th place and eighth in the second heat.
 
Sprinter Aaliyah Birmingham continued the 100-meter dash in the quarterfinals after qualifying in yesterday's prelims, finishing 20th with a time of 11.54.
 
Tulsa will be back in action at the meet tomorrow as Marc Scott looks to follow up his 10,000-meter win in the 5,000-meter run at 8:45 p.m. while the women's 4x400-meter team competes at 9:25 p.m.
