Scott Qualifies for NCAA Championships in 5,000-Meter Run

AUSTIN, Texas. – Marc Scott punched his second ticket to the NCAA Track and Field Championships on Saturday evening as he won his heat to qualify for the championships in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 14:33.42.
 
Scott's time overall placed him 10th in the event as he used a late push in the final 200-meters to win, securing a spot the top time in his respective heat. The senior also qualified for the championships in the 10,000-meter run as he took first place in Thursday's run.
 
The 4x400-meter relay rounded out the preliminaries as the Tulsa women's four of Kiara Jones, Candalyn Lyons, Breonna Hall and Aaliyah Birmingham finished 22nd with a time of 3:42.68.
 
Tulsa's NCAA Championship qualifiers in Scott and Luke Treynor will return to the track on June 7-10 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
