Softball to Wrap Up Regular Season at Home Against UCF

TULSA, Okla. – The University of Tulsa Softball team will wrap up the 2017 regular season this weekend with a three-game series against UCF at the Collins Family Softball Complex. Game one is scheduled for tomorrow at 5 p.m. on The American Digital Network with the series closing out on Sunday at noon for Senior Day.
The No. 24/25-ranked Hurricane (36-13 Overall, 14-1 The American) head into the weekend on a 10-game winning streak after securing the regular season outright conference title with a sweep of East Carolina last weekend. Tulsa leads the all-time series against the Knights 20-15, winning their last meeting in The American Tournament in 2016 with a 4-0 shutout in the semifinals.
UCF (27-21 Overall, 9-6 The American) come to Tulsa on a four-game winning streak after taking the final two games against UConn before defeating Bethune-Cookman in a mid-week doubleheader.
Tulsa will travel to Greenville, N.C. next weekend for the American Athletic Conference Tournament and are scheduled to open play on May 12 as the top seed of the tournament.

REGULAR SEASON CONFERENCE CHAMPS...
Tulsa secured their first American Athletic Conference regular season title with a sweep of East Carolina, clinching their first regular season crown since the 2014 season. The title marks the sixth of its kind for Tulsa, who has added five conference tournament titles with their last coming in the 2016 season.
WEEKEND SWEEP...
TU's sweep of East Carolina marked their 10th straight win and fourth sweep over a league opponent as Tulsa's record in the league improved to 14-1 with one series remaining. In addition to sweeping the Pirates, the Hurricane swept USF, Houston and UConn with their lone loss in conference play coming to Memphis in game one of a Saturday doubleheader.
TOP-25 POLLS...
Tulsa entered both the ESPN.com/USA Softball and USA Today/NFCA Coaches polls, coming in at No. 24 and No. 25 respectively. TU was last ranked in both polls in the early part of the 2015 season, ranking as high as No. 22 and No. 21.
NO-NO...
Emily Watson tossed her first career no-hitter in a 12-0 (5) game one win over East Carolina on Friday, striking out seven batters while facing just one batter over the minimum. Tulsa's last no-hitter came in 2014 as Aimee Creger held Middle Tennessee without a hit in a five-inning win.
