Eight Tulsa rowers were named as Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Scholar Athletes, as announced by the CRCA.  All student-athletes must be at least a sophomore, row in a minimum of 75-percent of the current spring races in an NCAA or IRA eligible boat, and have a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher as of December 2016.

"The rowers at The University of Tulsa are great student-athletes," Head Coach Kevin Harris said.  "I can't help but be proud of the way that our athletes mirror their success in the classroom with what they do on the water.  By definition these women are in our best boats and are making things happen on campus.  It's my privilege to be able to see them recognized by the CRCA for their hard work."

Among the honorees are seniors Lindsay Crute, Maria Gearing and Skylar Luttjehuizen, juniors Stephanie Call, Colleen Giesbrecht, Madeline Lyons and Hannah Vissers, and sophomore Audrey Brown.

Crute and Gearing are three-time honorees, while Giesbrecht, Luttjehuizen, Lyons and Vissers have each earned the honor twice, and Brown and Call are first-time recipients.
