Four rowers have been added to the 2017-18 signing class, as announced today by Tulsa Head Rowing Coach Kevin Harris.  The new signees, which include Julia Dunn, Annah Lance, Ellie Russell and Voirrey Taylor, join the five announced in early January for nine in the signing class.

"We have a very solid group of women joining our team this fall," Harris said.  "Kerry Hassall, our recruiting coordinator, did a great job blending experience and youth, as well as increasing our international reach.  This group brings a lot of great race experiences that will help our team as we are fighting for the American Athletic Conference Championship.  The other thing I really like is the maturity that Eleanor and Caitlin bring to our team.  Their perspective as older students are an intangible asset for our team that can't be measured in numbers or medals.  I am looking forward to seeing all of them on campus next month."

Dunn is from Signal Mountain, Tenn., where she has rowed with the Chattanooga Junior Rowing Club.  During her senior season, she has raced the Junior Women's 4x to a first-place finish at the Atomic City Turn and Burn and Music City Head Race.  She also earned a bronze medal in the Varsity 4+ at the 2017 US Rowing Southeast Youth Regionals and finished 17th at Youth Nationals.  Dunn has also competed in the Pair, Double and Lightweight 4+ in her career.

A Mustang, Okla., native, Lance just finished her first year of rowing for the Oklahoma City Riversport.  She rowed in novice boats at OKC Riversport and will be entering her first full year as a rower at Tulsa.

Russell is from Northampton, United Kingdom, where she has been a member of the University of Nottingham Boat Club and Northampton Rowing Club.  Most recently, Russell earned a fourth-place mark for Nottingham University at the European University Rowing Championships in the Four without Coxswain.  Her boat also made the quarterfinals at the 2017 Women's Henley Regatta and was in the B-final at the 2017 British University Rowing Championships.  She has also earned a first-place finish at the British University Championship (BUCS) Head in the Regional Indoor, while also finishing first in the Championship 4- once, third in the Championship 4+ once, fourth in the Championship 4- once, and fifth in the Championship 8+ once throughout her career. Russell comes to Tulsa with two years of eligibility remaining and will begin graduate school.

A native of Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom, Taylor rows for the Bedford Modern School.  Most recently, she earned a silver medal at the British National Schools Regatta in the Women's Four with Coxswain and was seventh in the Women's Quadruple Sculls.  Her Quad earned a spot in the first round of the 2017 Henley Royal Regatta.  Taylor has also earned a gold medal in the Single at the 2014 Hampton Head, as well as in the Double at the 2013 and 2015 Inter-Regional Regatta and 2013 National Schools Regatta.  Taylor claimed a silver medal in the team relay at the 2016 British Indoor Championships, silver in the Double at the 2014 Inter-Regional Regatta and 2013 British Junior Championships, and finished second in the Quad at the 2014 National Schools Regatta.
