TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa will begin play at the 11th annual Puerto Rico Tip-Off on Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. (CT) against Western Michigan, it was announced today as the tournament bracket was revealed by ESPN. The first-ever meeting between the Golden Hurricane and Broncos from Coliseo Municipal Tomás Dones in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, can be seen on ESPNEWS/ESPN3.
Playing in the bottom half of the bracket, Tulsa will face either Appalachian State or Iowa State on Nov. 17 in a game that is set to be televised on ESPNU. A pair of victories would put the Hurricane in the Nov. 19 championship game at 6:30 p.m. (CT) on ESPN2.
The top half of the bracket matches Illinois State against South Carolina, while Boise State will face UTEP. All 12 games of the Puerto Rico Tip-Off can be seen on ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPNEWS or ESPN3.
This will be Tulsa's first appearance in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off. The Hurricane went 3-0 in its last visit to the island for the 1999 Puerto Rico Holiday Classic in Bayamon.
