The University of Tulsa rowing program named Michelle Goodwin as an assistant coach, as announced today by Head Rowing Coach Kevin Harris.
"I am very excited to have Michelle Goodwin join our staff," Harris said. "Michelle stood out among some very talented applicants as someone who would contribute a lot to our team and The University of Tulsa. As a rower from Tennessee and a coach at Grand Valley State, she has been mentored by two great coaches in Lisa Glenn and John Bancheri. Not to mention she is from New Jersey and Holy Spirit High School, which is always a plus for our New Jersey born rowers. She is going to be an outstanding addition to our staff and I am looking forward to getting to work with her."
Goodwin rowed for four years at Tennessee, where she helped the Volunteers claim the 2012 Conference USA Championship. She also earned a silver medal in the Open 4+ at the 2013 C-USA Championship, and was a member of the Varsity 4+, 2nd Varsity 4+ and 2nd Varsity 8+ throughout her career.
Goodwin holds a US Rowing Level II coaching certification.
Goodwin earned her bachelor's degree in history and secondary education in 2014, and her master's degree in teacher education in 2015, all from Tennessee.
