Coach Montgomery Interview

TULSA, Okla. –– The Tulsa Golden Hurricane football team was back on the practice field Wednesday morning at H.A. Chapman Stadium.

"We finally got a little heat today and some humidity. We did some things to make sure that we were doing a lot of running because I wanted to see how our guys are going to react to it. We finally got a good, warm day so I wanted to use it," said Philip Montgomery.

"Our consistency has to get better. We've got to continue to grow in that sense and that's what I talked to them about at the end of practice today. We've got to be more consistent as a football team. We've shown flashes of things here and there, but we've got to be able to put things together," added Montgomery.

Tulsa returned to the practice field today after yesterday's Football Kickoff Luncheon presented by ONEOK and ONE Gas and Team Photo Day.

"It was good to get back on the field. We needed the day yesterday. Our guys have put in a lot. I think this is practice No. 14, which is about an entire spring which normally takes us over a month to get through. We've done it pretty rapidly. They needed a break and came back and had a good day," said Montgomery. "We have to push through the remainder of this week, get through this next scrimmage and then we'll start focusing in on Oklahoma State."

The Hurricane will be back on the practice field Thursday.
