TULSA, Okla. – The Tulsa volleyball team will start the 2017 season on the road in Denton, Texas, for the North Texas Invitational hosted by North Texas. The Golden Hurricane take on the host Mean Green at 5 p.m. on Friday night. On Saturday, the Hurricane will battle UTEP at 11 a.m. before a 3 p.m. contest against Montana. Prairie View A&M, who was originally scheduled to participate in the event, was forced to withdraw due to Hurricane Harvey.

The last time Tulsa played the Mean Green was in 2015. North Texas won, 3-0, but overall the Golden Hurricane hold a 14-6 advantage. UTEP owns a slight 28-25 edge in the all-time series against TU. The matchup against Montana will be just the second in program history. The Grizzlies took the only previous meeting in straight sets back in 1994. None of the teams have played an exhibition headed into the North Texas Invitational.
