The Tulsa women's soccer team returns home to host Utah Valley on Friday, September 1 at 12:00 pm and James Madison on Sunday, September 3 at 11:00 am at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium.
Tickets are $5 general admission and can be purchased at the north ticket gate, online at TulsaHurricane.com or by calling the TU Athletic Ticket Office at 918.631.4688.
Fans unable to attend the match in person can watch it live on TulsaHurricane.com/watch. There is a 24HR Pass, a Monthly Pass and Yearly Pass that allow you to watch all TU home men's and women's soccer, volleyball and softball games depending on the package purchased.
The Golden Hurricane (0-3-1) is looking for its first win on the season. TU has scored three goals in the first four contests, with all three from a different scorer. Addyson Guthrie scored her first collegiate goal against Central Michigan, while Anna Williams punched in a score against Nebraska and McKenzi McAdams recorded a goal against Oklahoma. Rebecca Defer has logged all 385 minutes in goal and has picked up 24 saves.
Utah Valley comes to town with a 1-3 overall record, with all three of their losses coming in overtime. Breanna DeWaal has a team-best three goals, while Brooklyn Nielsen has played the majority of minutes in goal and picked up 10 saves.
James Madison enters the weekend with a 3-1 mark, but will take on Arkansas before making the trip to Tulsa. JMU is led by Haley Crawford and Lizzy Lazzaro with three goals apiece, while Colleen Gawkins has added two scores. Olivia Miller has played the majority of minutes between the posts and recorded seven saves.
This will be just the second meeting between Tulsa and Utah Valley, as the Wolverines picked up a 2-1 win in the 2006 Wyoming Cowgirl Classic. It is also the second meeting with James Madison as TU earned the 2-1 win during the 1993 campaign.
Under the direction of Head Coach Kyle Cussen, TU has tallied a 38-9-4 home mark in non-conference games, including a 0-1 mark in 2017, for a 78-percent winning percentage.
