Tulsa Soccer Teams Host Double-Header on Sunday

The Tulsa women's and men's soccer teams will both host SMU in a double-header on Sunday, September 24 at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium.  The women's game is set for 1:00 pm, while the men's contest will begin at 4:00 pm and will air on the American Digital Network.
 
Tickets are $5 general admission and can be purchased at the north ticket gate, online at TulsaHurricane.com or by calling the TU Athletic Ticket Office at 918.631.4688.  One ticket is good for both games.
 
Women's:
Tulsa enters the contest with a 2-7-2 overall record, including a 0-1 mark in American Athletic Conference play with a 3-1 loss to Houston on Thursday.  The Golden Hurricane is led by three players with two goals apiece this season, including Rachel Thun-Blankenship, Addyson Guthrie and Danielle Hoover.  Thun-Blankenship also has a team-best three assists.  Courtney McKeon and Rebecca Defer have combined for 1,053 minutes in goal, 81 saves and one clean sheet.
 
The Mustangs have a 4-2-3 overall record after tying Memphis in their conference opener, 3-3.  Vanessa Valadez has a team-high five goals, while Isabelle Nashmi and Haley Thompson both have four assists.  Catie Brown has played the majority of minutes in goal and recorded 30 saves and three shutouts.
 
SMU has a 24-6-2 lead in the all-time series, including a 4-1 win last year in Dallas.

Men's:
TU has a 2-3-1 mark and are looking to earn their first home win of the season.  The Hurricane is led by Rollie Rocha with three goals, while Munashe Raranje has two scores.  Marcel Da Silva and Cooper Clark have combined for 27 saves and one shutout so far this season.
 
SMU, which is ranked 19th in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll, has a 6-1 mark and are on a three-game winning streak, all of which have been shutouts.  The Mustangs are led by Mauro Cichero and Garrett McLaughlin with five goals each, while Michael Nelson has logged 630 minutes between the posts for 19 saves and four clean sheets.
 
SMU has a 29-10-4 lead in the all-time series, while TU earned a 3-0 win last season in Dallas.
