TU to Participate in the Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships

TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa men's tennis will be in action at the Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships beginning this weekend. The tournament starts Saturday, Sept. 30, and wraps up on Oct. 9. This year marks the 13th time that the Golden Hurricane has hosted the event.

Lucca Baptista, Joshua Goodger, Jarod Hing, Boriss Kamdem, Majed Kilani, and Mitchell Pritchard will represent TU in the Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships. These men will compete in the singles draw as well as the doubles draw. The tandem of Goodger and Baptista has already qualified for the main draw in doubles. The duo of Kilani and Hing will compete in the qualifying rounds for a chance to make the main draw.

The pre-qualifying rounds will take place starting on Saturday, Sept. 30, and last until Sunday, Oct. 1. Pre-qualifying for singles will feature 256 athletes competing for 16 spots for the qualifying rounds. The qualifying rounds will follow on Monday, Oct. 2, and Tuesday, Oct. 3. Qualifying for singles will consist of 128 players, with 16 spots into the main draw up for grabs. Qualifying rounds for doubles play will be comprised of 64 teams competing for just eight spots into the main draw. The main draw will begin on Thursday, Oct. 5 and run through Monday, Oct. 9. The main draw for doubles will be a field of 32 teams, while the field for singles will be compiled of 64 athletes.
