Tulsa Heads to Columbus for the ITA Kick-Off this Weekend

TULSA, Okla. – The Golden Hurricane men's tennis team will take to the road this weekend as it travels to Columbus, Ohio, for the ITA Kick-Off. Tulsa (2-2) will join Ohio State, North Florida and Yale, as they compete for one of the 15 spots in the ITA National Team Indoor Championships. The team that wins both of its matches will receive the bid for the Indoor Championships in Seattle, Washington.
Tulsa starts the weekend against North Florida (1-2) at noon, on Saturday, Jan. 27.
The winner for the TU and North Florida match will play the winner of the No. 2 ranked Ohio State and Yale match on Sunday, Jan. 28, at 11 a.m. The losers will play in a consolation match on Sunday, Jan. 28, at 8 a.m.
The Buckeyes (1-0) are currently ranked No. 2 in the country and feature five singles players ranked in the top-125 by the ITA. Mikael Torpegaard is ranked No. 5, Kyle Seelig is ranked No. 26, John McNally is ranked No. 57, J.J Wolf is ranked No, 60, and Martin Joyce is ranked No. 102. Ohio State also has the No. 55 ranked doubles team in the nation, Martin Joyce and John McNally. Yale is currently 2-1 on the season.
