Tulsa Head Women's Soccer Coach Kyle Cussen announced the signing of seven players for the 2018 class, including freshmen Emily Brandenburg, Jayden Chapman, Mia Darden, Bree Doeble, Tristyn Edgar, Alijah Oliver and Grayson Schimmels.

"Overall this is a really good signing class," Cussen said.  "What I'm most excited about with these seven is not only their ability on the field, but their work ethic.  Even though we lost a good senior class, the remaining players on our roster this spring plus these seven women will help us be successful not only in the short term, but in the long run as well."

A 5-6 defender from Spring, Texas, Brandenburg is a three-year letterwinner at Concordia Lutheran High School where she helped post 75 wins and captured the TAPPS 6A Division I District 3 championship as a freshman, sophomore and junior.  She was a two-time first-team all-district and second-team all-state selection, and picked up honorable mention all-district accolades as a freshman.  Brandenburg also plays club soccer for the Texas Rush and Houston Dash.

Chapman, a 5-3 defender from Tulsa, Okla., is a three-year letterwinner at Bishop Kelley High School.  She helped her team win the 2017 Oklahoma Class 5A State Championship and finish as the 2016 runners-up.  Chapman has scored eight goals from her defender position.

A 5-7 forward from Viejo, Calif., Darden plays club soccer for Slammers FC G00-99 ECNL Composite.  She led her team to the 2017 Cal State National Club Championship and qualified for the 2017 Seattle Regionals, while scoring 19 goals and 18 assists during the season.  Darden is also a track athlete, as she has the 400-Meter record with a time of 56.57 for Aliso Niguel High School.

Doeble, a 5-4 defender from Fort Myers, Fla., played club soccer for the West Florida Flames where she advanced to the ECNL North American Finals three years in a row (2014-2016).  She led her team to the Disney Qualifier Championship and Disney Junior Showcase Championship, and finished as the Disney Showcase finalists.

Edgar, a 5-7 forward from Cabot, Ark., played club soccer for the Arkansas United and West Side Alliance.  She captured five Arkansas State Championships from 2012-16, and one Oklahoma State Championship in 2017, going on to play in the 2017 National Tournament.  Edgar was also a member of the ODP regional team from 2016-17.  She was a two-year letterwinner at Cabot High School, leading her team to an Arkansas 7A State runner-up finish as a sophomore and junior, while tallying a 43-8 mark in those two seasons.  She tallied 67 goals and 21 assists in those two seasons, and was tabbed to the all-conference, all-state and all-state tournament team both seasons.

Oliver, a 5-6 midfielder from Huntington Beach, Calif., has been a member of the Slammers FC ECNL from U15 to U18.  With her U16 team, claimed the ECNL League Championship and as a member of the U15 team won the ECNL National Championship.  Oliver is also a three-year letterwinner at Huntington Beach High School, where she has assisted her team to 54 wins, two Sunset League Championships and a Regional State Finalist run in three years.

A 5-8 defender from Edmond, Okla., Schimmels is a member of the Oklahoma FC, where she has captured the state championship five times (2013-17), and won the 2017 US Youth Soccer National Tournament and 2017 Super Y League National Championship.  She also participated in the Regional Tournament three times and National League twice.  Schimmels is also a three-year letterwinner at Deer Creek High School, earning all-district and all-city honors as a junior.  She also earned four letters as a member of the volleyball team.
