Preisner and Roderique Go One, Two, in 3,000-Meter Finals

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Ben Preisner and Adam Roderique finished first and second, respectively, in the men's 3,000-meter finals at the Birmingham Crossplex on Saturday. Tulsa finished sixth in the men's standings, while the women placed 11th.

Preisner followed his 5,000-meter championship from Friday, with the 3,000-meters on Saturday. Preisner won the 3,000-meters with a time of 8:12.89. Roderique came in second with a time of 8:15.64, securing the top-two spots for the Golden Hurricane.

Robert Tully collected a third-place finish in the men's 800-meters, with a time of 1:51.18.

The women's 4x400-meter relay team of Kiarra Reed, Candalyn Lyons, Breonna Hall, and Aaliyah Birmingham combined for a time of 3:45.49 on the way to a fourth-place finish.

The men's 4x400-meter relay team placed fourth. Hans Kunsch, Zachary Adee, Henry Visser, and Bailey Stewart combined for a time of 3:14.90.

Sabrina Monsees shaved two seconds off of her qualifying time and placed fourth in the women's 800-meters, with a mark of 2:09.52.

Ca'Purnika Galbert notched a fifth-place finish with a time of 56.32 in the women's 400-meter finals.

The Hurricane track & field team returns to action on Friday, March 9, in College Station, Texas, for the NCAA Indoor Championships.
