TULSA, Okla. – Haley Meinen went 3-for-4 with a homer and three RBIs, but Missouri State rallied from a four-run deficit to defeat Tulsa, 7-6, on Tuesday evening at Collins Family Softball Complex.

Shelby Estocado (1-for-3) and Julia Hollingsworth (2-for-3) each extended their hitting streaks to 16 and 15 games, respectively, for the Golden Hurricane (14-10). Tori Stafford and Rylie Spell each drove in runs with sacrifice flies, while Samantha Pochop pitched the first 4.1 innings of the contest and recorded four strikeouts.

Meanwhile, Kaitlin Beason went 3-for-5 to lead the Bears (13-10) and Erin Griesbauer pitched five scoreless innings of relief for the victory.

Tulsa started fast against Beason in the circle with a four-run bottom of the first. Hollingsworth and Estocado wasted no time in extending their hitting streaks as the junior started the frame with a single and she came around to score on Estocado's double to right-center for a 1-0 lead. Meinen then made it 3-0 with her two-run homer and after a Briers double, Stafford scored on Spell's sacrifice fly.

Missouri State got two runs back in the top of the second, but TU countered with two of its own in the bottom of the frame.

Morgan Neal scored on Meinen's one-out single to right field and Estocado touched home on Stafford's sac fly that made it 6-2.

However, Griesbauer retired 10 straight TU batters as part of her five scoreless frames while the Bears tied the score with four runs in the fifth before taking the lead with another in the sixth.

Meinen singled in the bottom of the seventh, but the Bears got a double-play to close out the 7-6 victory.

Tulsa will return to the diamond at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14, when it will host Illinois State (9-17) at Collins Family Softball Complex. It's National Pi Day (3.14) at the park and the first 500 fans will receive a free personal pie from Bama Pie.
