Watch Coach Montgomery Discuss Practice HERE.

TULSA, Okla. –– The Tulsa football team began spring practice on Sunday with a shorts and helmets practice, and two days later added shoulder pads as the Golden Hurricane practiced for two hours on Tuesday.

"Tuesday was the first day of pads. There was a lot of emotion going in, and guys had been biting at the bit to get on the field and hit. Everybody wants to pop some pads. I really loved the energy level," said Tulsa head coach Philip Montgomery.

Tulsa's Tuesday practice occurred with cool temperatures and high winds.

"The wind was blowing about 40 today, so we had our trials, but it was good for our guys to get some work in it. It was good for our young quarterbacks to feel that pressure, work on their spiral, and they had to push the ball through it," added Montgomery.

Tulsa will be back on the practice field Thursday, Friday and Sunday of this week.
