Tulsa’s Varsity 8+ and 2nd Varsity 4+ Finish Fifth in First Day of Clemson Invitational

Tulsa's Varsity 8+ and 2nd Varsity 4+ both recorded fifth-place finishes in the first day of racing at the Clemson Invitational at Lake Harwell in Clemson, S.C.
"It was interesting moving the schedule all around today due to pending inclement weather, but the women handled it well," Head Coach Kevin Harris said. "Our results were solid and we had good, tight racing against some very good crews across the country. We learned a lot today so now we have to take what we learned and get faster for tomorrow."
Sam Barber, Helen Leigh, Ellie Russell, Lucy Coleman, Veronique Ulrich, Lauren Vander Hoeven, Paige Hallam, Sophia Camara and Hannah Vissers raced the Varsity 8+ to a time of 6:29.83 to trail Ohio State, South Carolina, Syracuse and UCLA. TU topped Cornell and host Clemson in the event.
In the 2nd Varsity 4+, Katie Shin, Emily Williams, Annah Lance, Nichole Backus and Stephanie Call turned in a time of 7:45.77 to finish ahead of Navy and the Clemson 'B' boat.
The Golden Hurricane's 2nd Varsity 8+ and Varsity 4+ boats both finished seventh in their races.
