Delaney Smith's triple in the bottom of the first led to a run before Rebeca Melton's solo homer in the second inning made it 2-0. An inning later, Threatt singled through the right side to bring another run home for the 3-0 advantage.
Sarah Briers led off the top of the fifth with a single only to see Molly Smith retire the next three hitters. Hollingsworth then started the sixth with a base hit, but was left stranded. Molly Smith yielded a walk to open the seventh before closing out the contest.
TU will look to take the final game of the series, which is set for a noon start on Sunday, April 29.
