
Tulsa Ranked No. 29 in Latest Oracle/ITA Rankings

TEMPE, Ariz. – On Tuesday, the Oracle/ITA (Intercollegiate Tennis Association) announced its weekly rankings, and the Tulsa women's tennis team is ranked No. 29.
The Golden Hurricane has bolstered an overall mark of 16-4 and a 2-4 record against ranked opponents. The first victory came against, at the time, No. 16 Baylor, 4-2, followed by a 7-0 shutout against, then, No. 27 Wichita State.
In the singles rankings, Ksenia Laskutova and Martina Okalova hold down the No. 73 and No. 101 positions, respectively. Laskutova has compiled a 20-6 singles record, with a 14-3 mark in dual matches. Laskutova holds a 3-3 record against nationally ranked foes, with the latest coming against, then, No. 84 Fatima Bizhukova. Okalova has accumulated an 18-5 singles record, 11-2 in dual matches, with a 1-2 record against ranked opponents. Okalova defeated the No. 102 ranked Sandra Honigova.
For the first time this season, the Hurricane has a doubles team ranked. Laskutova and Martha Matoula jumped into the No. 86 spot, after they improved to 13-3 in dual matches. The Tulsa tandem just upset the No. 8 team of Sarah Dvorak and Sabrina Federici.
The Golden Hurricane returns to action this Friday, as it travels to No. 10 Oklahoma State.
