A Tulsa halfback for four years, he was selected to the All-Oklahoma football team as a sophomore and junior. Honored as the Oklahoma Back of the Year in 1929, he went on to earn honorable mention status on the 1930 All-America team. Served as the head basketball coach for seven years (1932-39), and became the head football coach in 1939, winning 11 games in two seasons. checkFontSizeCookie();
