Tulsa's Active Youth Program Reaches Summer Close

Tulsa Golden Hurricane Student-Athletes took over parks this summer to play with kids and promote active and healthy lifesyles!

To kick off the summer series, TU went to Veteran's Park.
New Tulsa Men's Basketball player Geno Artison got to get out into the Tulsa community for the first time since joining the program.
Watch some of the highlights from the event:

For the second event of the summer, Golden Hurricane Athletics took over The Gardens at LaFortune Park.

It was a wonderful day to be at the park.
Starting quarterback for the football team, Dane Evans, was out and throwing touchdown passes to all of the kids.

KJRH put together a video that shares the sights and sounds of Tulsa Plays.

Read Kelly Hines' story from the event: Tulsa Men's Soccer was happy to be a part of the event.
The kids really wore our student-athletes out, with all of them having to sit down and rest when the event was over!

The final Tulsa Plays! was in south Tulsa at Hunter Park!

Football, soccer, basketball, rowing, and softball student-athletes were all there, as well as spirit squad members.

Channel 8 reporter John Moss kept cool while covering the event with a quick trip through the splash pad!

Who says you can't stay cool while working? #TulsaPlays

Freshman basketball player Lawson Korita was the only student-athlete that would join John Moss in the splash pad.

After these three events, we want to really thank all of the children and parents who took the time to come out and play!
