Tulsa rower Johanna Kristof was named to the 2021 Pocock All-America Honorable Mention team and finished 12th at the 2021 World Rowing U23 Championship this weekend.
Â
"Johanna is an amazing student-athlete," Tulsa Head Coach Kevin Harris said. Â "She manages to stand out on a team of outstanding people. Â She loves the hard work and is always leading her teammates from the front. Â It's a joy to have her at Tulsa and we are really proud of her."
Â
Kristof, a sophomore from Osterreich, Austria, picked up All-America honors, becoming just the second Tulsa rower in program history following Stephanie Rogers who earned second team accolades in 2012. To be honored, a student-athlete must have rowed in at least 75-percent of the season's races, have earned first-team all-region accolades, and are considered based on boat performance, nomination rank, coach's comments, individual achievements and 2k erg score.
Â
Kristof also finished 12th in the U23 Women's Single Sculls, after turning in a time of 8:15.19 in the 'B' Final for Austria. In the final she trailed The Netherlands (7:58.56), Italy (8:00.77), Ireland (8:06.47), the United States (8:07.20) and Russia (8:14.98).
