IRVING, Texas — The 2025-26 American Conference women's basketball schedule has officially been released for all 13 league members. The Tulsa Golden Hurricane will take on 12 conference opponents in 18 games from December 30 through March 7 with the American Championship set for March 10-14 at Legacy Arena at The Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex in Birmingham, Ala.
Beginning this season, the American Championship will feature the top 10 teams in the final standings in a new five-day bracket format. The No. 1 and No. 2 seeds will advance directly to the semifinals, while the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds will maintain byes to the quarterfinals. The No. 5 and No. 6 seeds will receive byes to the second round. Seeds 7-10 will open the tournament in the first round.
Of Tulsa's 12 American opponents, the Golden Hurricane will face six teams twice–once at home and once on the road–and take on the remaining six conference foes once in three home games and three away contests.
Four of Tulsa's conference games will be against 2025 postseason teams, including last season's American champion and NCAA participant South Florida (away), WBIT first-rounder and regular-season champion UTSA (home and away) and WNIT competitor UAB (home).
First, TU will open conference action at home against Wichita State in the Donald W. Reynolds Center on December 30. Tulsa swept Wichita State last year, winning at home (56-42) and on the road (58-46) against the Shockers.
A week later, Tulsa will take a road trip to New Orleans to face Tulane (January 6) before coming home to face Temple on Friday, January 9. TU defeated Tulane by 19 points (73-54) and lost a close one to Temple in Philadelphia (73-71) last season.
TU will once again take on the North Carolina teams on the road in the same week, this time on January 13 (East Carolina) and January 17 (Charlotte). The Golden Hurricane split games with the Pirates and went 2-0 against the 49ers during the regular season.
After Tulsa takes on Rice in the Reynolds Center on January 20, TU will play North Texas in a road tilt on January 24. Both teams got the better of Tulsa last year.
Following will be a pair of home games in the Reynolds Center to wrap up the January slate with Tulsa hosting Florida Atlantic on the 27th and Memphis on the 31st. Tulsa swept the Tigers and earned a win at home against the Owls from Boca Raton a year ago.
Three of the first four February games for Tulsa will be on the road, starting with their second game against Wichita State on February 3. After the Golden Hurricane host UTSA on the 7th, they'll head to Florida to compete against South Florida (February 11) and Florida Atlantic (February 14). The Golden Hurricane earned a decisive 66-58 home win over the Bulls last year during TU's five-game win streak to end the regular season last year.
Tulsa will then welcome UAB and Tulane for a pair of home contests on February 20th and 24th, respectively. Tulsa erased a 20-point deficit against the Blazers to earn their biggest comeback victory in program history.
The Golden Hurricane will hit the road for pair of games in Texas, one against Rice (February 28) and the other against UTSA (March 4) before wrapping up the regular season against East Carolina on Saturday, March 7.
The American Conference will preview the 2025-26 season Oct. 12-13 when the league hosts its Basketball Media Days on ESPN+.
