The Tulsa men's soccer team battled UConn to a 1-1 double-overtime tie on Saturday night at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium.  TU moved to 6-6-3 on the season and 2-3-2 in American Athletic Conference play, while the Huskies moved to 5-5-5 overall and 2-3-2 in the league.

"I thought our play defensively was quite good for much of the night," Head Coach Tom McIntosh said.  "We created some better chances and it was obviously frustrating to give up a goal with one-second left, but overall our performance was good.  We dominated much of the game, controlled large stretches of the game and really dictated the terms of the game.  I thought we had a lot of guys come in off the bench and play really well, as well as our starters."

Geoffrey Dee put the Golden Hurricane on the board with just 27-seconds off the clock in the second frame as he drilled in a cross from Lesley Nchanji from 20-yards out.  TU held onto the lead until UConn's Abdou Thiam scored a goal with one-second remaining off a pass from Kwame Awuah from six yards out.

Neither team found the back of the net in both overtime periods and the game ended in a 1-1 tie.

Dee had a team-best four shots, while Cole Poppen added two attempts and eight others had one shot for Tulsa.  Jake McGuire logged all 90 minutes between the posts and picked up two saves.

TU had a 14-8 lead in shots, including a 5-3 advantage in shots on goal, while the Huskies had a 5-4 lead in corner kicks.

Tulsa will conclude the regular season at Memphis on Saturday, October 31.  Game time is set for 7:00 pm in Memphis, Tenn.
