Tulsa Men’s Soccer Team Tops Missouri State in Exhibition, 2-1

The Tulsa men's soccer team topped Missouri State, 2-1, in an exhibition contest on Friday night at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium.
The first half was tightly contested as both teams had four shots, but neither found the back of the net.
In the second frame, Jordan Speed put the Golden Hurricane on the board at the 50:23 mark from seven yards out, but MSU's Harry Lewis countered with a goal in the 67th minute to tie the contest, 1-1.
Miguel Velasquez scored the game-winner at the 83:19 mark as he punched in a score from five yards out.
Tulsa had an 8-7 lead in shots, including a 5-2 advantage in shots on goal, while the Bears had a 4-2 lead in corner kicks.
Aymar Sigue had a team-best three shots, two of which were on goal, and Velasquez added two attempts. Jake McGuire logged all 90 minutes between the posts and had one save.
TU will play an exhibition game against Northeastern State tomorrow at 1 pm, and will open the regular season on Friday, August 28 against Saint Louis at the Hurricane Stadium.
